THE SILENT COMPANIONS is a haunting read you won’t soon forget with its chilling mystery and Gothic touches of horror. This is the kind of story fans of Gothic literature crave and are going to devour for its original idea using “silent companions” which evoke such an unsettling feeling in its readers.

Between the Spark and the Burn is as restless, turbulent and brooding as the dark sea that seems such a strong motif throughout this series. Not to be outshone by its predecessor, Between the Devil and The Deep Blue Sea, once again author April Genevieve Tucholke has written a beautifully eloquent, dark and gothic read with a romance that is sumptuous and beguiling. Between the Spark and the Burn  is a stunning conclusion to the duology and I found myself lost in the story of Violet and the intoxicating power of the Redding brothers.

Impostor by Susanne Winnacker is a fun and suspenseful young adult story that combines fascinating elements of Sci-Fi and romance with the page-turning ability of a thriller. It involves some great action, a world inhabited by super-humans with really unique powers known as Variants, just the right amount of romance, and a murder mystery involving a serial killer that kept me guessing until the end.
