SWOONING FOR ALL THINGS BOOKISH.
Young Adult Book Review: Sea of Stars by Amy A. Bartol
Last year I discovered Amy A. Bartol's writing with the first installment of her Kricket series Under Different Stars. Now, with her second installment Sea of Stars, I am once again reminded of why I enjoyed Amy's writing so much. Romance in the stars! Rivalry, action, and danger threaten all while a star-crossed romance had me gasping and swooning for more.
Young Adult Book Review: Red by Alyxandra Harvey
Red promised to be a mysterious read with its dark forest setting, the secretive Blackwood Family and Kia with her power of fire, how could I resist? This is my first read by Alyxandra Harvey and Red turned out to be a fast, entertaining read with a surprise twist on the theme "What lies beyond the forest?"
Young Adult Book Review: Breaking Sky by Cori McCarthy
When I first read the premise for Breaking Sky, I was immediately intrigued by the fact that Chase is not only a jet flyer, but a teen female pilot chosen to fly an experimental new jet known as the "Streaker." I'm all for "girl-power" so I had to see for myself what this new heroine was all about.
Young Adult Book Review: Salt & Stone by Victoria Scott
Salt & Stone takes readers in this second book of Victoria Scott's Fire & Flood series and plunges them through two new and dangerous ecosystems. This time around the Brimstone Bleed not only raise the stakes with these new terrains but introduces new threats to characters that will test their limits. New challenges that I had not anticipated for both Tella, her team, and their beloved Pandoras gave the story and even steeper edge. I was on pins & needles worried as the tension just kept mounting.
