She’s about to make a deal with the college bad boy...

Hannah Wells has finally found someone who turns her on. But while she might be confident in every other area of her life, she’s carting around a full set of baggage when it comes to sex and seduction. If she wants to get her crush’s attention, she’ll have to step out of her comfort zone and make him take notice... even if it means tutoring the annoying, childish, cocky captain of the hockey team in exchange for a pretend date.

...and it’s going to be oh so good.

All Garrett Graham has ever wanted is to play professional hockey after graduation, but his plummeting GPA is threatening everything he’s worked so hard for. If helping a sarcastic brunette make another guy jealous will help him secure his position on the team, he’s all for it. But when one unexpected kiss leads to the wildest sex of both their lives, it doesn't take long for Garrett to realize that pretend isn't going to cut it. Now he just has to convince Hannah that the man she wants looks a lot like him.

The Deal by Elle Kennedy is the first in the Off Campus series which felt like a breath of fresh air. This book made me happy! It gave me smiles, giggles, and swoons.

The Deal has a wonderful balance of college and social life with two very strong, intelligent and lovable characters. It's rare for me to enjoy the heroine and hero equally in a New Adult read, yet the author Elle Kennedy manage to do just that with her characters Garrett Graham and Hannah Wells.

Let's make a deal. Garrett is struggling in his Ethics class which in turn threatens his GPA and possible play time for his team as their captain. When he accidentally bumps into Hannah after class one day and discovers she has aced the lasted test and the course as well, he becomes determined to have her tutor him. Hannah wants nothing to do with Garrett, especially tutoring him since she thinks he's your typical dumb jock. She has her music, classes and job she's devoted to and tutoring Garrett is nowhere in her plans. Except he tempts her with an offer she can't refuse: her helping him pass Ethics in exchange for him helping her to catch her crushes attention.

What makes The Deal such a winner read in my opinion is the very unexpected friendship the builds slowly between Garrett and Hannah. The chemistry and banter between these two made the book completely shine and addicting to read. Both characters are smart and driven. Garrett is definitely hot as the captain of the hockey team with plenty of cockiness and charisma to attract the opposite sex. He's also very smart, as in a history major smart, and not your average empty-headed jock. Hannah's also very smart, she's sassy too and musically talented with a killer voice. I loved how the friendship gradually and realistically builds between them as Hannah spends more and more time with Garrett- at first tutoring, then just hanging outs as buddies. They're so sweet together. The whole time I was fixated on their friendship, and how Garrett was surprised by how he loved to *just* hangout for the first time with a girl and how Hannah's friendship began to really matter to him. I also liked watching as Hannah began to see so much more to Garrett beyond his amazing talent as a hockey player and realized just how smart and fun he was to be around. The best part was the trust these two built-up with each other.

Through tests, parties, hockey games and music auditions to Breaking Bad movie marathons, watching these two become closer as friends, past vulnerabilities and then move to a seriously hot and swoon-worthy romance was the best. There's a bond of trust that is built first, then lots of smiles, giggles and happy-n-hot sighs for these two. Garrett and Hannah are adorable together, swoon-worth and make a perfect book-couple. I'm very impressed and excited about this new series, and I can't wait to pick-up the next book by Elle Kennedy!

My Rating: 4.5 Stars. I really liked it!
