SWOONING FOR ALL THINGS BOOKISH.
Waiting on Wednesday: Sky Without Stars by Jessica Brody and Joanne Rendell
Waiting on Wednesday is a weekly meme originally created by Jill at Breaking the Spine and is now being adapted as Can't Wait Wednesday by Tressa at Wishful Endings. It spotlights and discusses to-be-released books we're excited about that we have yet to read. This week Iām spotlighting the upcoming young adult novel Sky Without Stars by Jessica Brody and Joanne Rendell!
A Spark of White Fire by Sangu Mandanna
Get ready for a Young Adult Space Opera unlike any you have read before! Inspired by the Mahabharata, A Spark of White Fire by Sangu Mandanna is filled with capricious gods and goddesses, warring galactic kingdoms floating in space on vast spaceships, and a sentient warship named Titania that kicks-butt! Add to the mix a curse, an exiled princess, royal family dynamics, space-action and some swoon-worthy romance, and you have just the beginnings of this new epic series.
The Deepest Roots by Miranda Asebedo
The Deepest Roots was everything I wanted in a Young Adult magical realism book. The writing is gorgeous and the strong friendship presented between Rome, Lux, and Mercy make this debut a standout. Miranda Asebedo certainly knows how to tell a story. With just the right amount of magic, mystery, and romance, The Deepest Roots is a very appealing and addictive read.
The Lantern's Ember by Colleen Houck
The Lantern's Ember by Colleen Houck is a delightfully creepy read with its cauldron mix of Halloween folklore and the supernatural. I have been a fan of Colleen Houck since reading her Egyptian themed Reawakened series. When I heard she was writing a standalone taking inspiration from "The Legend of Sleepy Hollow" and twisting it with Halloween lore, I could not have been more excited!
